About us

 

In the summer of 2014, four friends from different parts of Tamil Nadu, India met in Bristol and had a collective interest in teaching their mother tongue, Tamil, to their children. It started as a small initiative at each others' homes in the weekends with only seven of their own children as students.

Later in 2015, with the increase in interest from children and parents, Nakshatra Tamil School was established with 10 students and a dedicated venue. Initially, the Tamil Nadu State Tamil language syllabus was used as a base and was adapted to develop an alternative curriculum to cater to the children living in the UK.

 

Progressively, in September 2017, NTS are now proud to be affiliated to the International Tamil Academy (ITA), based in California, USA, in providing children with a well-structured curriculum and educational resources.

NTS are proud to be blessed with a dedicated group of volunteers who are passionate in delivering the objectives of the school.
